Awareness & Course-Correction

Outcomes & Measuring the Journey

Step 5 — Measure the Journey

Progress is not always obvious.

Achievement can look like progress while actually taking us away from what matters. Failure can sometimes be an essential part of progress. Rest can be necessary. Persistence can sometimes become unhealthy attachment.

The purpose of measurement is not to turn life into a performance score. It is to develop awareness and course-correction.

Defining Meanings

Together, we explore deep personal definitions:

  • What does progress mean to me?
  • What does success mean to me?
  • What does failure mean to me?
  • What does stagnation mean to me?

Recognizing Indicators

More importantly, we build awareness to recognize:

  • How do I recognize genuine progress unfolding?
  • How do I recognize that I am moving towards a dead-end?
  • How do I recognize when inertia or sloth has set in?
  • How do I recognize when stress has accumulated and I need to slow down?

Measuring Progress in a Coaching Journey

A Journey of Self-Discovery, Not a Commercial Performance Scorecard

For young adults undertaking a coaching engagement, time provides space to move beyond immediate anxieties and explore deeper life patterns.

Your priorities may change as your understanding deepens. A direction that seemed important six months ago may evolve into a clearer vision. That is not failure. That is part of the discovery.

The Coaching Journey Plan is reviewed periodically and evolves as you do—guiding you through Self-Understanding → Life Vision → Action → Resilience → Progress → Contribution → Detachment.
